South Hadley Human Rights Commission reelects leadership, expands community outreach. The commission unanimously returned Renee Sweeney as chair, Dick Matteson as vice chair, and Lori Souder as clerk. Sweeney was recognized for receiving the Commonwealth Pride Award.
The commission plans September outreach focused on civil rights and mental health awareness, drawing on an intern's compilation of Massachusetts cultural organizations and development of social media content. Guest Sheila Adams presented Operation Backpack, which provided 213 backpacks to South Hadley and Granby students last year, and the commission committed to encouraging members to share program information with local organizations.
