Board of Registrars sets procedures for dual September 1 elections

South Hadley Board of Registrars finalizes election procedures for dual September 1 balloting. The board, composed of April Bellafiore, Lucia Foley, and Town Clerk Sarah B. Gmeiner, will manage both the Massachusetts Primary Election and a Special Town Election on an override question.
Election officials will produce two sets of machine tapes from South Hadley's five precincts, 10 total, one from in-person voting and one from vote-by-mail and early in-person ballots; both sets will be tallied together for initial results. Unofficial results are expected to be posted at the high school by 9 p.m., with final results including hand-counted write-in votes to follow.
