Human Rights Commission approves prior minutes, charts resource compilation work
Human Rights Commission · Meeting of March 25, 2026
SOUTH HADLEY — Human Rights Commission approves prior minutes, charts web resource and awareness work. The five-member commission unanimously approved draft February 2025 minutes and discussed alignment of HRC tasks with the town's Masterplan Implementation Committee plan. Guest Alex Wirth-Cauchon raised questions about how the HRC reports to MPIC and whether the Commission's work aligns with broader priorities.
The Commission agreed to prepare a narrative report in April assessing effectiveness. Members reviewed a resources compilation Google Doc, deciding to link to state pages but not other communities' materials, and added Human Rights Day (December 11) to a draft awareness calendar anchored to monthly observances such as Juneteenth and Gay Pride Month.
