SOUTH HADLEY — Human Rights Commission forms planning subcommittee for December Human Rights Day event. The South Hadley commission approved prior meeting minutes and discussed ongoing outreach for Operation Backpack and community awareness programming on topics including mental health, suicide prevention, and domestic violence. Chair Renee Sweeney's commission will have Clerk Lori Souder coordinate with the Board of Health, with planned outreach to the Police Department and Veterans Services.

A planning subcommittee of Gena Lomelin, Aisha McClure, Lori Souder, and intern Sarah Li will organize the December event centered on the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
