South Hadley Deed Filings Mix Home Sales With Municipal and Estate Transfers

South Hadley recorded eight property transfers with the Hampshire County Registry of Deeds between Aug. 28 and Sept. 26, though only three carried a sale price: $750,000, $354,050 and $350,000, for a median of $354,050. The period's costliest filing was not a typical home sale: Big Y Foods Inc. sold 65 Old Lyman Road to the South Hadley Electric Light Department. Alvord Place saw three separate recorded transfers, including a bank sale, a municipal transfer and an estate tax filing.
