Selectboard · Meeting of July 14, 2026
South Hadley Selectboard advances $3.5M override to September ballot by 4-1 vote. In a contentious 4-1 decision, the board approved placing a $3.5 million tax override on the September 1, 2026 special election ballot, seeking additional real estate and personal property tax revenue for fiscal 2027. Chair Jeff Cyr told voters opposing previous overrides to carefully consider the town's financial situation before the vote.
Member Kevin Hennessey dissented, advocating for a different approach. The board also unanimously approved $107,020 in year-end transfers, including $40,520 for Police uniforms and software and $66,500 from Group Health Insurance for unemployment claims and web accessibility upgrades.
