Selectboard approves wastewater treatment contract

South Hadley Selectboard awards wastewater treatment contract to Tighe & Bond. The board unanimously approved the contract for the main street pump station project and authorized Town Administrator Lisa Wong to sign it. The board also unanimously released a 17,918 dollar lien on 1 West Main Street placed for emergency unsafe-structure work in December 2024.
An EPA-funded Brownfield assessment of the site identified hazardous contamination including asbestos, PCBs, and lead in building debris and arsenic and lead in soil; the property owner's estate is the responsible party under state environmental law. The board additionally approved Wong's performance evaluation with a combined score of 75.3 and scheduled a September 26 retreat with facilitator Jeff Nutting.
