South Hadley Planning Board schedules an October 5 hearing on special-permit transfers. The Planning Board voted unanimously September 14 to hold a public hearing on a proposed amendment to zoning bylaw Section 255-128(H) to allow special-permit transfers with planning board approval, addressing a legal concern raised by Town Counsel Attorney Mead that the current prohibition may be vulnerable in court. Director Anne Capra reported the Massachusetts Attorney General approved the town's floodplain amendment but rejected the sign bylaw's fine provision for exceeding the state maximum of 300 dollars; staff will schedule a corrective hearing for October 5.
