South Hadley Selectboard approves dual override options for April ballot.

Selectboard · Meeting of March 3, 2026

South Hadley Selectboard approves dual override questions for April 14 ballot. The board voted three to two to forward $9 million and $11 million Proposition 2.5 override questions to the Town Clerk, with Chair Jeff Cyr and Clerk Carol Constant dissenting. Town Administrator Lisa Wong presented a proposed $59.9 million FY27 budget that requires staffing reductions across finance, public health, human services, public works, and public safety, and relies on one-time funds and reduced OPEB contributions to balance.

The proposed library budget falls below state certification threshold, potentially requiring reduced hours and closure of a branch library. Residents will vote on each override amount independently on April 14.
