South Hadley Elementary School Building Committee reviews four design options for new elementary school

South Hadley Elementary School Building Committee reviews revised cost estimates for elementary school project options. Chair Diane Mulvaney and the committee examined proposals ranging from $40.2 million for code upgrades only to $95.9 million for a major add/renovation at the existing Mosier site. Superintendent Jennifer Voyik highlighted educational benefits of a Grades 1–5 configuration, including Pre-K expansion at Skala School and vocational programming.

The committee unanimously approved a $5,500 expansion of the traffic study to include the Mosier/Morgan intersection and approved a $175 poster board expense for community outreach. The committee plans to select its preferred design option at the May 11 meeting.
