South Hadley Cultural Council adopts stricter procedures for managing unresponsive grant awardees. Treasurer Joy Jarme reported a negative fund balance of $12,136.86 and two dispersed grants totaling $700. The council approved five protocol changes, including withholding funds after two unreturned emails and adding "communication responsiveness" as a formal grant criterion.
David Solender-Clark will contact the Massachusetts Cultural Council on minimum grant requirements and research deadline practices at peer councils.
