SOUTH HADLEY — Selectboard reorganizes and defers budget override decision to May meeting. Jeff Cyr was unanimously reelected chair, with Carol Constant as vice chair and Priscilla Marion as clerk. Town Administrator Lisa Wong presented one-, two-, and three-year budget recovery plans following failed Proposition 2.5 override votes for $9 million and $11 million, outlining cost efficiencies and modest revenue increases but acknowledging the steps will not fully close the gap.
The Appropriations Committee unanimously transferred $10,000 from the Reserve Fund to the Elections account to cover potential special election costs. The board will discuss a possible second override vote at its May 5 meeting.
