SOUTH HADLEY — Planning Board approves bagel shop sign with limited illumination hours. The South Hadley Planning Board unanimously approved illuminated signage for Tandem Bagel Co. at 460 Newton Street, conditioning the light hours from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. in line with recent sign bylaw amendments, with Director Anne Capra confirming that Pettengill Insurance would continue operating at the location. The Board also advanced discussion of zoning amendments governing agricultural land uses, addressing resident concerns about outdoor entertainment venues and recreational facilities.

Poultry keeping was expanded to the Residential A-2 zoning district, and the Board expressed support for allowing nighttime greenhouse illumination provided light does not intrude on neighboring properties. Discussion continues at the June 22 meeting.
