Planning Board appoints John Mullin as associate member; approves Deer Meadow permit modification

SOUTH HADLEY — Planning Board unanimously appoints John Mullin associate member. The retired UMass-Amherst landscape architecture professor with decades of economic development and zoning reform experience prevailed over former Associate Member Dan Dodge in interviews. Chair Diane Supczak-Mulvaney, Vice-Chair Bob Szklarz, Clerk Brad Hutchison, Member Rob Watchilla, and Member Linda Gouin voted to recommend Mullin to the Select Board.
The Board also unanimously modified performance guarantee conditions for Deer Meadow Way Flexible Development at 136 East Street, allowing release upon stormwater and roadway completion rather than Certificate of Occupancy issuance. A public hearing on South Hadley Electric Light Department's proposed 65 Old Lyman Road facility was continued to May 18 pending revised plans addressing traffic and stormwater comments.
