South Hadley Library Trustees receive warning on FY27 budget reductions. Library Director Joe Rodio reported that the proposed 7 percent town budget cut would fall below the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners' Minimum Appropriation Requirement, forcing the library to seek a waiver to remain in the State Aid to Public Libraries program. Loss of that standing would eliminate annual state funding, reduce grant eligibility, and prevent South Hadley residents from borrowing through the state's reciprocal lending network.
The board unanimously approved routine motions to pay bills and approve prior minutes.
