Cultural Council approves prior minutes, discusses grant awardee project changes.

Cultural Council · Meeting of January 20, 2026

South Hadley Cultural Council addressed grant-administration policy after awardee Gaia Roots requested permission to redirect a $200 award toward a different concert in Holyoke. The council, present in full, agreed to consult the Massachusetts Cultural Council on the matter and noted that rules require fund return if the approved project cannot be delivered. Treasurer Joy Jarme reported earned interest and confirmed awardee payouts should occur within four weeks.

Of 46 approved projects, 19 have not yet submitted required financial and agreement information. The council plans to refine funding priorities by early September using a refined survey to align with expressed public interest.
