Council on Aging approves April minutes, discusses donations and building reserves

Council on Aging · Meeting of May 11, 2026

South Hadley Council on Aging unanimously approves prior minutes and discusses donation pathways. Interim Senior Services Director Andy Rogers reported approximately $65,000 in gift funds and $43,000 in an activities fund dedicated to the senior center, with recent withdrawals for facility repairs. The board voted in favor of allocating $100,000 from the $535,000 Stabilization Fund toward debt service, though Town Administrator Lisa Wong advised the fund can continue accruing interest while the existing Project Building Account is drawn first.

The board scheduled an Aging in Place Fair for June 24, 2026, and moved future meeting start times to 4:15 p.m.
