Council on Aging approves annual town report, addresses budget staffing cuts.

South Hadley's Council on Aging unanimously approved its Annual Town Report covering July 2024 through July 2025 as the board confronts significant staffing changes. Senior Services Director Julie Pearce announced her departure effective March 27, with the board to consult on her replacement. Two staff members, Social Services Coordinator Emily and afternoon front desk staff member Carol, will leave by June 30 due to town budget cuts.
The council is stepping up volunteer recruitment and welcomed new Program Coordinator Brandon Dumas. Upcoming events include the Buttery Brook Park grand opening May 16 and a Senior Pickleball Tournament on May 1.
