Building Committee seeks more time to evaluate three elementary school options.

Elementary School Project Building Committee · Meeting of March 31, 2026

South Hadley Elementary School Building Project Committee delays preferred option selection. Chair Diane Mulvaney's Committee voted unanimously March 31 to revisit all three design alternatives--a renovation-addition, a new building on the current site with revised traffic patterns, and a "Mosier-on-Mosier" new construction option requiring three-year student relocation--before advancing a preferred option. The Committee also voted unanimously to request a Massachusetts School Building Authority extension and approved a $25,410 traffic study required by MSBA.

Superintendent Jennifer Voyik said additional evaluation time would benefit the overall process; Chris LeBlanc of Mt. Vernon Group Architects confirmed the design team could accommodate the extended schedule provided the Committee continues to make timely decisions.
