Building Committee delays elementary school design submission to June.

Elementary School Project Building Committee · Meeting of April 15, 2026

SOUTH HADLEY — Elementary school building committee delays design submission to June as traffic study begins. Chair Diane Mulvaney's committee approved prior minutes and received updates on three design options, Alternative 3 (Add/Renovation), Alternative 5 (preferred), and Mosier on Mosier (new construction), with Fuss & O'Neill beginning traffic data collection April 15 on a site currently handling over 200 daily parent drop-offs plus seven buses and 13 to 15 vans. The revised MSBA timeline moves the Preliminary Schematic Report from April 30 to June 25, with project scope and budget approval now set for December 9, 2026.

Public comment concentrated on traffic impacts to Parkview Drive, a 76-home cul-de-sac protected under Massachusetts Subdivision Control Law.
