Bike-Walk Committee approves prior minutes, plans summer events

SOUTH HADLEY — The South Hadley Bike-Walk Committee reaffirmed current leadership and approved prior minutes. Ruth Camuse continues as Chair and Anne Barry as Vice Chair. The committee reported on recent treks and confirmed upcoming events including an April 25 vernal pool trek at Lithia Springs, a May 2 bird walk led by ornithologist Bill DeLuca, and a June 6 seven-mile bike ride departing from Village Commons.
Committee members attended a regional bike-pedestrian advocacy meeting and were briefed on the Pioneer Valley Planning Commission's Safe Streets project, which offers an online mapping tool at www.pioneervalleysafestreets.com for reporting sidewalk gaps and safety concerns.
